The Great Synagogue in Pilsen - WITH THE RABBI'S HOUSE
The Great Synagogue in Pilsen has reopened to the public after three years of extensive reconstruction. The largest synagogue in the Czech Republic, the second largest in Europe and one of the five largest in the world, it is built in a pseudo-Romanesque style with Moorish elements. A unique building from the second half of the 19th century with rich interior decoration is now presented in its full beauty. In addition, as part of this tour, you will look into the Rabbi's house with the ritual Jewish mikveh bath and also into one of the synagogue's towers.

ABOUT THE TOUR
The Great Synagogue in Pilsen has reopened to the public after three years of extensive reconstruction.
The largest synagogue in the Czech Republic, the second largest in Europe and one of the five largest in the world, it is built in a pseudo-Romanesque style with Moorish elements. A unique building from the second half of the 19th century with rich interior decoration is now presented in its full beauty.
During the guided tour, you will learn about the construction and reconstruction of the synagogue, as well as the history of the Jewish community in Pilsen, and you will also see the new permanent exhibition Here the Jews Lived.
In addition, as part of this tour, you will look into the Rabbi's house with the ritual Jewish mikveh bath and also into one of the synagogue's towers.
