At the Drama Studio in Ústí nad Labem, Eliška Říhová has adapted one of the most notable works of Spanish literature in recent years. Layla Martínez’s Wormwood shows in a fascinating way how hatred grows in a person. Two women’s voices echo from the bowels of the woodworm-infested house, desperate to stop the cycle of poverty, violence and exploitation. The editors of Divadelní noviny declared the visually impressive production with strong acting, based on Blanka Stárková’s masterful translation, the event of the month.
